Mallozzi's Updates for October 30-31, 2009
Stargate Universe —
October 31 FROM ENTRY [NOTE: Joe dedicates nearly the entire entry to the negativity on his blog, in forums, and other places. The "idiocy" got so bad that Brian J. Smith left Twitter and his mom Sherri Harris left Joe's blog.] Conclusion: "Hmmm. A lot less ranty than I’d expected two days ago when I had originally planned to tackle this topic. Still, ranty enough to ensure some thin-skinned faction of fandom will be whining and stomping its feet in response. Hey, while you‘re here, check out a behind-the-scenes vid from ...
Stargate Universe Writer To Fans: Stop Being Idiots [Stargate Universe]

... to insist we get rid of them. And Mallozzi has a tough message for the fans who want the show to be more like previous entries in the Stargate realm: SGU is NOT SG-1 or Atlantis. It's a different show in terms of tone and characters. If you're expecting flawless people, square-jawed heroes, and stories that set up and deliver all the answers over the course of a forty-five minute episode, you WILL be disappointed. And DON'T expect that to change. Much more in the link. Go and read. That Long Overdue Rant – And A Behind-The-Scenes Vid From Water [Joseph Mallozzi's Weblog] ...
Stargate Universe Writer To Trolls: Stop Being Idiots [Stargate Universe]

... of a forty-five minute episode, you WILL be disappointed. And DON'T expect that to change. But still, it's really interesting to see this response, fans are always tough especially on the internet, this isn't new news. We're very surprised that the writers especially seasoned Mallozzi, hasn't dealt with this sort of thing before. Is his skin getting thin because the complaints ring true, or is was it an appropriate response to a monsoon of trolls? Much more in the link. Go and read. That Long Overdue Rant – And A Behind-The-Scenes Vid From Water [Joseph Mallozzi's Weblog] ...
SGU Producer Joseph Mallozzi Would Like you to Stop Being Idiots
SciFiCool.com | No Anal Probing Involved —
[image] Well, this, er, is not going to prove very fruitful. Apparently tired of all the “Stargate: Universe” bashers showing up at his blog and leaving, well, SGU bashing comments, SGU producer/writer Joseph Mallozzi has responded with a long statement on his blog . Besides addressing the overall negativity of “Stargate” loyalists who haven’t seen the light, Mallozzi also addresses some of the more hostile reactions to the show. Unfortunately, I’m afraid he’s only going to keep the “conflict” going by addressing it, which is probably not the intent. On the negativity towards ...
SGU Producer Says Some Negativity About Show Wrong
Airlock Alpha —
Everyone has an opinion, but is there a line between an appropriate opinion and just being mean? Joseph Mallozzi, an executive producer with Syfy's hit new series "Stargate: Universe," says absolutely. And those who are flying over that line need to stop, because it's ruining the chance for other fans to interact with the cast and crew. "For the most part, I don't think it's gotten all that bad here," Mallozzi wrote on his blog . "Still, I'd suggest that anyone looking to post a critical comment consider their wording. Not their opinion, but the way in which they express said ...

SGU This Week: “Earth”
Solutions Blog —
... Telford finally gets the chance to make his move to take over the Destiny while he’s in the body of the man he’s trying to replace, Colonel Young. And what is Young doing while Telford’s making his move? Why, he’s making moves of his own. You’ll have to watch the episode to find out how far the creators are indeed willing to go and which of these storylines could just very well be the one that Lenic, Mallozzi, and even Phillips believe will set the Internet on fire and shake the show’s already slightly unstable foundation . ...

Stargate Universe - Ratings Drop Amid Controversy
BillieO’s Blog —
sgucastbanner.jpg picture by BillieO Seems like Stargate Universe has hit a bump in the road or to put it in more appropriate vernacular, a huge asteroid belt. On October 31, 2009, longtime Stargate writer, Joseph Mallozzi , left an ill-conceived rant on his popular blog denouncing disgruntled fans who had posted crude and negative opinions over various internet sources, such as twitter, syfy and even his own blog, all voicing their extreme displeasure about the new incarnation of Stargate . There are now over 500 posts on ...
